Trend Multipro Copper is a 30 MHz tester to qualify and troubleshoot copper pairs for wideband technologies such as VDSL2 and ADSL2+.
Copper Pair Qualification Tool for Wideband Services
Qualification and modelling the copper pair is essential to guarantee reliable and error-free Triple Play service. Trend Multipro Copper allows the user to qualify copper lines up to 30 MHz, to determine their suitability for all DSL services including VDSL2 up to Band Plan 30a.
Applications
Qualification of the existing copper plant for bandwidth consuming services such as IP Television
- Modelling of the transmission features of copper pairs in laboratory or field applications
- Maintenance, troubleshooting and failure location of the copper access network
- Monitoring line signals generated by network elements (user equipment and DSLAMs) to check compliance with masks provided by the standards
Features
- Complex Characteristic Impedance measurement for avoidance of reflections due to impedance mismatches
- Crosstalk and noise tests to guarantee high quality signal transmission across the local loop
- Frequency response that checks suitability of copper pairs for wideband transmission
- Digital Multimeter capability simplifies measurement because a single tool can be used for miscellaneous tasks.
- TDR that reports cable faults along with their specific location in a 6 km range
- Power Spectrum analyser enables in service verification of line signals
- Masks and user-configurable pass/fail tests make easier the work of technicians
- Single and dual-ended tests with Trend Multipro and Trend Transponder save costs and time to installers and service providers
The Trend Transponder is a low cost accessory for Trend Multipro Copper that replaces a tester in dual-ended measurements thus saving costs in equipment and staff.
Features and Benefits
Very long battery life for installation where no mains power is available
- Provides higher precision attenuation measurement than a single-ended estimation when used together with Trend Multipro Copper
- Reports its status (battery condition, etc.) to remote Trend Multipro users
- It applies short circuit and open circuit in miscellaneous measurements performed by Trend Multipro Copper
- Compatible with all copper tests, including TDR and digital multimeter
- It can be inserted into the cable at each joint to isolate faulty cable segments
- It transmits warbling tone for pair tracing
