The 3G/CDMA2000 challenge

ATLANTA (GA) June 4th 19th. The mobile industry will soon be ready to deliver new 3G services that will enhance many aspects of our work and leisure.

Mobile-commerce, Location tracking, bi-directional video, High speed Internet access, Net gaming, MP3 downloads and Wireless multimedia messages.

Trend has been working hard during the last five years and now provides state-of-the-art solutions, such as the OC-12 module for the Aurora Jazz, that demonstrate Trend's commitment to provide new tools for the roll-out and maintenance of the new network technologies.

Aurora Jazz now has a new plug-in optical interface that can be installed in the field and extends the Aurora Jazz functionality up to 622Mbit/s. Additionally it has test interfaces for DS1/DS3, E1/E3, OC3/STM1 and allows bi-directional monitoring.

With functions such as Alarm monitoring, BER, ATM traffic scanning, AAL decode, QoS procedures, OAM protocol, IP Ping and real-time protocol decodes, Aurora Jazz provides comprehensive physical, ATM and IP layer testing. Equally relevant is the recently introduced PC remote viewer software.

Our portfolio for 3G is based on Aurora Jazz, Victoria Combo, Victoria  OC48 Plus, and Victoria Jitter/Wander

Symmetric DSL is ready

ATLANTA (GA) June 4th 19th. The Symmetric High Speed Digital Subscriber Line (SHDSL) is the preferred solution for professional and high quality access

SHDSL is well suited for applications with Symmetric bandwidth requirements such as   bi-directional data, voice and full duplex video transmission. SHDSL technology has features such as rate adaptation, low power, and high compatibility with other signals transported over longer distances on the copper pair.

Aurora Tango SHDSL provides all the features needed to verify and analyze the physical  loop up to the higher layers transporting all of these services, combining performance and efficiency in a light and user friendly modular tester.

Aurora Tango can emulate either an STU-R or an STU-C and provides verification of the SHDSL analog parameters, PPP, and ATM layer tests, as well testing the connection of the higher layers and the IP functionality by means of Ping and Trace Route.

Again, Aurora Tango continues to be what it was designed to be - a future proof multitechnology tester

Next gen SONET

MADISON (AL) May 19th. If one thing has been proven in the last few years it is that SONET is returning as the cheapest  and more efficient solution  for the IP and Ethernet transport.

The new SONET is packet friendly, with new features like virtual concatenation (VC-Xc), the generic framing protocol (GFP) and the associated link capacity adjustment scheme (LCAS).

Carriers need Next Generation SONET equipment to be able to handle any service that is introduced. The new Victoria Combo is one of these tools, well tailored for any SONET, T-carrier, and GbE measurements up to 10Gbps. Its stackable, multiple modules can be added or removed in seconds, without the need for tools, as the application demands.

Victoria Combo is also very versatile. You can access its resources from anywhere, in a variety of ways. The first application is a direct USB connection. If you use a TCP/IP network for connection then LAN, Intranet, VPN, even wireless connections are possible.

All you need is a PC and an Internet browser. Victoria Combo not only includes in a set of remarkable features but also the following accessories; compact flash (CF), smart energy power, field cleanable optical connectors, and standby mode.

Keep on business in performance

BARCELONA March 19th. The latest G.828, G.829 methodologies have been specifically designed for measuring SONET/SDH performance. Both have recently been included in the Victoria family from OC-3 up to OC-192.

G.828 defines a methodology for verifying the performance of international,  national, and private synchronous digital paths, covering tandem connections between different operator. In order to simplify in service measurements, G.828 uses codes inherent in the path and the objectives are defined independently of the physical infrastructures.

G.829 defines error performance events and block structures for SONET lines and sections (SDH multiplex and regenerator sections) to ensure that  performance assessment yields compatible results. Definitions of events in this recommendation are based on the same basic concepts as in G.828.

Victoria allows both manual and automatic programming. In automatic mode the user only needs to select a check box, and all the performance objectives will be automatically set to the correct values. A PASS/FAIL indication will instantly display the result. For advanced users there is the option of manually setting each objective.
