  • Victoria Combo NGN

BARCELONA (Spain) March 18th. New additions to Victoria Combo make it a high performance tool for testing Next Generation Networks.

Virtual Concatenation brings new flexibility to SDH and SONET networks allowing operators to adjust the bandwidth of links to fit traffic flows more accurately, increase the efficiency of use, and enable them to extract the maximum value from their existing networks.

Virtual Concatenation also brings new challenges for installing and testing these networks. Victoria Combo enables you to test networks using both Low Order and High Order Virtual Concatenation. It offers VC-11Xv, VC-12-Xv for mapping 10Mbit/s Ethernet services and VC-2-Xv, VC-4-Xv for mapping 100Mbit/s Fast Ethernet or 1Gbit/s Ethernet services. Victoria Combo can detect all the events related to Virtual Concatenation when monitoring the network, or generate any event when simulating a piece of network equipment.

LCAS (Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme) allows network operators to change the size of a data pipe dynamically as demand changes, without affecting the traffic being carried. Victoria Combo allows you to analyse and generate the LCAS protocol on the network.

Next Generation Networks use a data signal encapsulation technique called GFP (Generic Framing Protocol); Victoria Combo can analyse and generate GFP-F and GFP-T frames and analyse frame bandwidth.

One of the strengths of Next Generation Networks is their ability to transport Ethernet traffic efficiently. Victoria Combo enables you to generate and analyse Ethernet frames over SDH and SONET. You can set up all aspects of the frames generated: frame type, header fields, frame size and traffic profile. It also enables you to analyse frame events, perform BER tests, analyse QoS parameters and run automatic tests.

  • Flexanet Internet Testing

HIGH WYCOMBE (UK) Nov 7th. Flexanet now includes a Internet download test, this measures the speed of the link from the web site to the customer's PC.

Flexanet xDSL is an on-line solution for ADSL and SHDSL Service Providers that simplifies the broadband business, making it more profitable while increasing customer satisfaction. By using Flexanet xDSL from the moment you receive a new customer order you can speed up the whole process of qualification and service provisioning. Aurora Forte Success

MUNICH (Germany) December 8th. Aurora Forte is being recommended in Germany for UMTS testing.

Everyone knows that UMTS is a hot topic for today’s telecommunication services.

Operators involved in the roll-out and maintenance of 3G will now be deploying the E1/IMA protocol on their networks. IMA is an essential technology for economic provisioning of high-bandwidth connections.

For  installing pilot equipment and Node-B it is essential to have a  tester that supports the physical interfaces, and comprehensive ATM functions. Major German manufacturers have carried out comprehensive analysis of the test products  available, including operation on live network equipment.

Aurora Forte was evaluated against its competitors, and Trend’s solution was a clear winner. Now Aurora Forte has a place in the Approved List  as the recommended product for the installation, support and maintenance of 3G networks.

With the choice of Aurora Forte, engineers know that they have a fully-featured product which is being kept up-to-date as new technologies emerge.

Other decisive factors that made Aurora Forte triumph were the cell stream graph function, easy viewing of alarms, dual port for monitoring, support for transmission and monitoring of multiple VCC including AAL id., OAM protocol, and IP Ping over ATM. Aurora Forte also includes a flexible traffic generator, and all the features needed to carry out ATM BERT and QoS measurements.
"Aurora Forte has an on-going development roadmap, and Trend intends to keep it as the leading portable network tester for the 3G market"
